TRANSPLANTER MECHANIZATION OF HORTICULTURAL CROPS
The raised bed former cum transplanter is developed by S.C. Mandhar, Principal Scientist at Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore, 560 089. India. It forms 1.2 meter wide and 15 cm high beds and transplants plug type or bare root seedlings of vegetable crops. Field capacity is 1 hectare/ day. The seeds of other vegetable crops like okra (lady finger), beans and field crops can also be planted.
