Harvesting machines: Benchmarking and designing...
I would like to launch a worldwide project allowed by the power of the internet:
about agricultural harvesting machinery. Harvesting machines require wide knowledges that we find in the brain of drivers, farmers, contractors, engineers and designers, mechanics, sales men, students and teachers of ag machinery; retired people from these activities. This project would share their ideas.
I think about combine harvesters first but also forage harvesters, hay baling, sugar beet and potatoes harvesters, vegetables (peas, beans...)
We need sciences from crop harvesting technology, hydraulics, mechanical design, electronics, data processing, ergonomy...
First i propose to compare the existing machines in the field from the main brands: what works well, problems, reliability, what i call benchmarking
Second we could imagine and "design" machines that meet the needs 'and dreams!" of everyone..
Is there someone interested?
First subjects proposed:
Comparison between all the threshing systems in combine harvesters
Operator Cab and ergonomy of use in self propelled harvesters
